Michelle has shared stages and bills with Catie Curtis, Al Petteway & Amy White, Cathy Fink and Marcy Marxer, Grace Griffith, Lisa Moscatiello, Tret Fure, Andrew McKnight & Mary Bryd Brown. Over the course of her musical career, Michelle has performed in numerous venues, including The Kennedy Center, Washington, DC; Jammin' Java in Vienna, VA; the Takoma Park (Maryland) Folk Festival; The Phoenix Cofffeehouse in Alexandria, Virginia; The Bottom Floor in Baltimore, Maryland; The Frederick Festival of the Arts in Frederick, Maryland; Fire & Water in Northampton, Massachusetts; Women & Their Music Festival in Hartford, Connecticut; Iota in Arlington, Virginia; The Evening Muse in Charlotte, NC The Virginia Women’s Music Festival near Charlottesville, Virginia; and the Kensington Coffeehouse in Kensington, Maryland.

Classifying herself as an "Urban Acoustic Singer/Songwriter," Michelle's influences includes artists as divergent as Cheryl Wheeler, Cat Stevens, and Lucinda Williams, but her performances center around her own compositions, displaying both a prolific talent for song writing and an infectious love of music. Self-reflective and acutely observant, Michelle deftly weaves lyric and note together to create intensely personal songs that tell of sentiments and circumstances nonetheless familiar to everyone.

Ten original songs of love, loss and learning to let go are featured on Michelle’s debut cd, "Whistling in the Dark" which was nominated for the Washington Area Music Association’s “WAMMIE” award for "Best Debut Recording" of 2000. Her peers also nominated her for "Best New Artist" in 1998 as well as “Best Contemporary Folk Vocalist” & “Songwriter of the Year” in 2002. Michelle was also a finalist in the 2001 Mid-Atlantic Songwriting Competition for her song "Not That I'd Know."

"Whistling in the Dark" was produced by Marco Delmar (recipient of the Washington Area Music Association’s 1999 & 2000 "WAMMIE" award for "Producer of the Year"" and recorded at the Recording Arts Studio (http://www.recordarts.com) in Fairfax, Virginia. Michelle’s second record, “What I Got,” is due for release in March 2004.
